Silver Bronze Memberships Now Available
Coto de Caza is a community founded more than forty years ago, settled (or nestled) in a lush valley, conceived and planned to offer a unique recreational lifestyle set within a country environment. Neighborhoods flourish when the essence of the community is based in the purpose and determination of its residents to preserve their shared interests and needs.
Coto Valley County Club and the Coto Valley Equestrian Center were central elements of the featured recreational facilities originally offering diverse opportunities for the entire family. Memberships in these facilities were given to pioneering purchasers of property in the valley. Today these members are owners collectively known as the Silver Bronze Corporation, and the member/owners operate the facilities that remain an integral part of the Coto valley, supporting its ambiance and bountiful lifestyle.
Silver Bronze is a California nonprofit, mutual benefit corporation, originally formed in 1989 for purposes of owning, operating, maintaining, managing and improving the Club facilities for the pleasure and recreation of its members and the surrounding communities. No memberships had been sold since the early 1990’s.
Change, however, is inevitable. Over the years some of the member families of the Silver Bronze have “moved on with their lives” and expressed a desire to sell their memberships. Hearing their request, the corporation revised the corporate by-laws to allow a one for one sale of existing memberships, while maintaining a limited exclusivity. At present ten percent of the equity memberships are available for sale.
Equity Membership is a partial ownership (approx. 200 members) in club assets and facilities, including:
The Clubhouse with restaurant and banquet facilities, Olympic size swimming pool, 10 tennis courts and a gymnasium, workout facilities, meeting rooms and;
The Equestrian Center, once used for the 1984 Olympic Equestrian events, now used as boarding and training for approximately 300 horses, barns, seven arenas and home to the Orange County Polo Club. The Center has access to over 20 miles of dedicated riding trails, and miles of open space trails.
The Silver Bronze Corporation has managed to operate these facilities in a profitable manner over the past several years under the management of a volunteer board of directors. This profitability and value has led the members to consider restructuring Silver-Bronze into a “for-profit” corporation sometime in the near future. A Membership allows for participation in the election of the board of directors and major policy decisions at an annual general Membership meeting.
As an integral element of the Coto Valley lifestyle, member ownership in these facilities determines the future direction and usage of these facilities that ultimately preserves the character and unique qualities of the Coto Valley community.
Join us in preserving these recreation opportunities and distinctive lifestyle for generations to come.
